Special Workshops

2005 - Evaluation Workshops

Two workshops were delivered by Yoland Wadsworth on practical methods of assessing the effectiveness of a project. The first focussed on the needs of those involved in project development and delivery, while the second was aimed at grant-makers, board members and CEOs of organisations that supply grants. Held in CBD locations they ranged from 2 to 4 hrs in length and were free to approved applicants.

2004 - Grant-Making Workshop

Delivered by Maria McGarvie, Grants Manager, Victoria Law Foundation at the National Association of Community Legal Centres (NACLC) Conference in Tasmania
2003 - Media Training Workshops

Two workshops were conducted in conjunction with the Federation of Community Legal Centres (Vic) on 'Working with the Media' and 'Media Interview Skills'. The first provided participants with an overview of strategies for working successfully with the media including 'how to write winning press releases'. The second workshop, also involving the Victorian Council of Social Service (VCOSS) was held at Channel 31, and provided hands-on media training to small groups under the guidance of experienced journalists. One of the volunteer media mentors was former Foundation board member and media personality, Jon Faine. Participants were grateful for a 'friendly gruelling' readying them for real life media debuts on law and justice topics.
