About Victoria Law

Victoria Law is a not-for-profit website that helps you find information about the law and legal services in Victoria. The website provides access to plain language resources about the legal system and the legal issues that affect Victorians in their everyday lives.

Resources available from the site include factsheets, booklets, books and web pages. Many publications are free to print or download in PDF form. Others can be easily ordered.

Victoria Law contributors are respected agencies and government bodies that provide legal services and education. Each agency regularly checks publications on the website to ensure they are current and accurate. We are continually adding publications to the site and welcome content from relevant agencies. Please contact us if your agency would like to contribute to the site.

Using Victoria Law

There are five ways you can find the information you need – you can search by keyword or browse by topic, agency, language or popular tag.

Victoria Law will display results that list content relevant to your legal issue. If you wish to learn more about this legal matter, you can follow the links directly to the organisation’s website.

Some content on the site, thanks to our contributor agencies, is now available in five community languages – Chinese, Greek, Somali, Turkish and Vietnamese. In time, we hope to add more languages.
