School Poster Competition2009 Entry Form PDF | Past winners Closing date 13 March 2009 This is an annual competition for Victorian secondary school students to design the official poster for Law Week and share in $1,000 of prize money. The winning poster will be displayed throughout Victoria to promote Law Week. The best entries will be exhibited at the Magistrates' Court of Victoria, Melbourne during Law Week and the finalists presented with prizes at the Courts Open Day. Sponsored by
$1,000 in cash prizes 1st prize $500 and for the student's school $200 2nd prize $200 3rd prize $100 In addition Deakin University has donated a REGIONAL PRIZE for best student entry from the Western District of Victoria (inc Ballarat, Bendigo, Colac, Geelong, Warrnambool) of $50 and $500 for their school! Poster design tips 1. Imagine your poster in a shop window or on the wall of a building. Your audience may be driving, cycling or walking past. How are you going to attract their attention? Keep the poster simple and strong. Use a striking image or contrasting colours 2. Your poster should communicate a positive message of how the law helps people, and incorporate the theme of Law Week, which in 2009 is 'Law at Work' 3. You may design the poster on your desk or table, but that is not how people will see it, so hang it up on a wall and ask friends or family for their immediate impression, as you may have created a beautiful work of art, but not a poster!
