What is the Small Grants program?  Small grants are grants of up to $5,000 (exc GST) that are usually meeting an immediate need or scoping a larger project. In most cases they are awarded at the discretion of the Executive Director of the Foundation.

Small grants are awarded for projects that meet the statutory objects and comply with the guiding principles of the Foundation that in the opinion of the Executive Director are meritorious and appropriate.

How much can I apply for under a Victoria Law Foundation small grant?  Small grants are for a maximum of $5,000 (exc GST)

Who can apply?   The Foundation accepts applications from most organisations. However, the Foundation only accepts applications from individuals in exceptional circumstances.

When can I apply?  Small grants at anytime of the year and we aim to respond to you within 14 days (this may be longer if we require additional information from you).

How do I apply?   We recommend that you approach your grant application in the following manner:

1. Contact the Grants Manager tel 9604 8115 to discuss your project. This is not compulsory but we highly recommend that you do this.
    
2. Check that your project meets the threshold requirements:
   · does your project fall within the statutory objects?
   · is your project eligible under the guiding principles?
    
3. Download the Small Grant application form 155kb PDF or 137kb DOC. You need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view PDF files or Microsoft Word to view DOC files.
   The Grants Manager tel 9604 8115 can help you with filling in the form if you need assistance.

What will the Foundation consider when assessing my application?  In determining whether to support an application for a small grant consideration will be given to the merits of the application and how the project meets the statutory objects of the Foundation and its guiding principles.

Should I speak to the Grants Manager before I apply? Yes, we recommend that with all grant applications you speak to our Grants Manager tel 9604 8115 before applying to assist you with submitting the best application possible.
